You fixed my Sony eReader, the beloved thing I broke and still can’t get over even though I’ve got my nifty Kindle. You’ve been asking me a lot about it since last month & I’ve always put it down to curiosity (and your techie nature). Little did I know that you ordered a screen before you left for Myanmar. It took forever for the screen to get here (thank you, Philippine postal system, for the constant lessons in patience) but you waited.
It wasn’t that you bought a screen (and I know you probably spent a lot, no matter how much you deny it), but that you fixed a favorite thing so I could have it once again. I’m sentimental and you know it. :) The heartfelt gesture of taking the time to figure out how to disassemble the unit and install the new parts, getting a scrape on your hand along the way, was touching. And impressive. You brilliant genius you. The quiet way you went about asking for my favorite colors, and designing the reader was sweet. Then you tried to customize my sleep mode screen to make a joke about my reading preference and that was just adorable. (“This got broken because the romance books you’ve been reading.”… Oh well, let me have my guilty pleasure. Please :D)
This is better than a romantic dinner, a cute movie afterward, bouquets of flowers and any kind of jewelry - all rolled into one. Be still, my book-loving moonstruck heart.
